My evaluation of the English class

I liked the used learning system in this course, was more didactic and had topics more interesting than the level three, I think that is important for increase the motivation and improve our English skills.

The activities I loved the most were the movies, especially the Michael Moore's documentary "sicko health care" and the topic of the social issues.  I have never learned this kind of topics in other English course and i think is very important know it. I also liked the discussions we had in class; I have enjoyed a lot listen to the opinions of my teacher and classmates about the different topics that we had classes.

Overall I think the course was super good, as we practiced the speaking, reading, writing and listening for equal. I don't know what things could be done to make the class better, maybe add tips for have a good interview or how to make a CV in English.

I think it is difficult to add many contents to a program offering classes once a week, which is unfortunate because while the professor is good making classes, the students can not progress quickly with their English skills if not consistently practiced. I hope one day this subject not be an elective and become a compulsory course that be take to at least twice a week, because is very important know English for a future professional, especially in the career of design and architecture.

About the bullying in 300 words.

Bullying can happen anywhere and to anyone. This is the use of threat or force to abuse, intimidate, or aggressively to impose domination over others, and is more common in the schools because the kids or the teenagers are unaware about the causing damage and the bullies don't have empathy. Can be physical or verbal, both kind of bullying are very bad for the health of the victim, and also affect the lives of the family. The verbal bullying will be a hard trauma in the future because could be causes a low self-esteem, depression and suicides in more drastic instances. The insults or joking more common are of sexism, homophobia, racism, intelligence and socioeconomic status.

I will tell you about a school classmate's story, Diego. He was a special person, because used to play with his drumsticks in the table (like a battery). Never bothered anyone, but didn’t get along with the guys in my school. A muscle head of my class, was bully, and made his life a hell. He persecuted to Diego in all high school indicating his face saying "look at him" for that everyone laugh at him. He made bullying him because his brother was "ñato", used to use verbal bullying every day for fun. When Diego finished the school, don't saw more their former classmates (the guys), but the stupid bully went to the same university and studied the same career. This seemed like a second part of this story, and this time was different. Muscle head, failed in almost all his subjects and was delayed a lot in the university, while on the other hand, Diego already is graduated to physical education teacher and is happy doing classes in their old school. 

The bully is the loser now.

Santiago in 300 words!

Santiago is Chilean's capital city and its administrative, financial and cultural center. The official language is Spanish, it has a population of over 6 million people and is divided into 'comunas' which are similar to large suburbs, each with their own city council.

The city almost doesn’t have manufacturing industries, because these are mainly in the north and the south of Chile. The main service industries are banking, financial service, tourism and is home to the regional headquarters of many multinational corporations.

Santiago is such a big city, you will sometimes need to travel from one side of the city to the other. One way to get around is using the very efficient Metro. It happens to be one of the cleanest and safest in the world but almost all day is crowded. The other option is to take one of the local buses called “Transantiago” but don’t have a good frequency.

The historic center has an European arquitecture and atractive cultural facilities like a theatres, museums, and music. In the Bellavista neighbourhood, at Manuel Montt Street and in Ñuñoa Square you will find a large array of restaurants and pubs.

Santiago is also a great base for exploring the surrounding region. With the Andes so close and accessible, you can be right in the mountains in an hour or two. In winter people go skiing for the day. Though the downside is that the city is polluted with smog in the colder months. In warmer months the Cajón del Maipo offers fantastic trekking, horseriding and rafting. Heading west towards Valparaíso you’ll also find good hiking opportunities in the Parque Nacional La Campana. Nearby villages such as Los Andes and Pomaire can provide a relaxing antidote to Santiago’s bustle. Still more tempting are the many vineyards within easy reach. Summer is really hot which is why most people leave Santiago in February to go to the beaches less than two hours away.
